Gabe Aramian named 16-1 Head Coach for the 2018-19 Season!
August 16, 2018 - Gabe Aramian, A5 Club Director and 12 year veteran, will take the reins once again as the 16-1 Head Coach. Perennially a national contender for the 16-Open title, Gabe has amassed a number of successes at the club level, including 3 National Championships - 16 Open AAU and USAV Gold Medal in 2016, 7 total AAU and USAV National Championship Medals, 12 Open Qualifier Medals - 7 Golds, and several #1 ranked teams in the country. In 2016, Gabe was awarded the 16s Coach of the Year by the AVCA. During his tenure, Gabe also coached collegiately at Coastal Carolina University and Auburn, where he was a part of two 2nd place conference finishes, and a 2nd round NCAA finish. As Lead Coach for the A5 program, Gabe is excited to be in the saddle for another successful 16’s season.
Gabe’s Assistant for the 16-1 Team will be former A5 star and Mizuno rep Stephanie Thelen! Stephanie was a standout setter at UNLV where she currently holds 6 records along with the Mountain West Conference Most Outstanding Setter, All-Conference First Team, and All-Conference Tournament Team. Stephanie has a storied juniors career where she started playing at the age of 9 in Texas, eventually leading to her 5 year stint at A5, including playing for Gabe on the 16-1 Team. She’s currently the Mizuno Volleyball Territory Manager servicing clubs within the southeast region. Glad to have you back, Steph!
