A5 18 Boba Qualifies for Nationals in 18 American Division

A5 Family,
Though most of our teams were off last weekend, those who competed excelled. A5 18 Boba became the 4th U18 team from the Family to qualify for nationals (incl the boys) by finishing second in the Southern Regional Bid Tournament. A5 South 18 Jeremy finished third - high enough to qualify, though they had already qualified at Beast last week. Both teams will be looking to to better their bids in Qualifiers to come.
March and April are exciting months for elite clubs in our sport, as the best of the best seek to qualify for the USA Volleyball National Championship Tournament. Will the A5 Family continue to lead the Nation in this metric? Will all of A5's "1" teams qualify for the Open division -- as they have for the last three years running? Will one or more teams from sister clubs qualify in the Open division for the first time? We'll know the answers to those questions within the next 60 days. Buckle up!

A5 18 Boba, A5 South 18 Jeremy Excel at Regional Bid Tournament
When USA Volleyball decided to bifurcate the 18's National Championship Tournament from the younger girls', most regions had to create a separate bid tournament for the 18's, and the Southern Region was no exception. The Southern Region Bid Tournament was conducted at Lakepoint in conjunction with the Peachtree Classic last weekend, where the Family enjoyed more than its share of success.
A5 18 Boba blew through pool play and the first part of bracket play without dropping a set - to include a cross-over match against already-qualified A5 South 18 Jeremy. Unfortunately they finished on the wrong end a three-set thriller in the finals, but their runner-up finish was good enough to earn a bid to Nationals in the American Division.
